Here's a few items I threw together for a cute Valentine wishlist. The Khaleesi (Game of Thrones) inspired scented candle is my favorite. I hope to do a post on these geeky scented candle soon. If you'd like to see more of Hippie Land's unique scents visit her Etsy store here.
Did a little organizing and WOW, it feels so empty. I am so use to letting my desk get full of my random projects and it's not helped by my nosy kitties who love to clear off their own spaces. But, maybe they were trying to tell me something... xD
Speaking of kitties: My little guy has grown up so fast! But, he's grown up to be a beautiful guy. His eyes have even turned orange and he has stayed just as friendly and cuddly as ever. He was a spontaneous pick up and one of my best decisions.
So here is the thing about my phone: I need to get off of Verizon. They are slowly draining me of all my cash. I am still using the iphone4s and it's been good to me. I am looking to update but I am in a predicament. Do I stay with an Apple or move over to Samsung? I really use my phone for photos and social media. The Samsung Galaxy 4 looks amazing, but I can't get over the size. I think I am one of the few who prefer a small screen and a more compact phone, like the iphone. Any suggestions?
As for the funny story: That's a picture of my dad and I. Yes, that is blood on my white teddy bear dress. How did this happen you ask? My father took me to the park and apparently I got a little scared on the sliding board. I completely flipped off the top. I ended up with 4 stitches in my head, but my parents decided to snag this shot before getting cleaned up.
Who's parents take you home first to grab a picture before going to a hospital!? Right? :p
My parents would take 100 million photos growing up and I am so glad they did. My father passed away about 5 years ago and this picture of him I, I hold dear. As for this particular picture, I can look back on it and laugh about how my mom would always poke fun of my dad for always seemingly getting me hurt under his watch. My dad was the best! I always had fun with him and if it wasn't for him I'd never be such a tough girl. :)
I have been looking for a new hobby lately. I came across an Instagram hashtag for "Project Life" and fell in love. I must have been out of it for the last few years, because I am just now finding out about it!
I want to of course put my GEEKY twist into it. I love the simplicity and easiness of it. I've always wanted to start a scrap book but didn't want to get into all the gluing and mess. I was wondering if anyone makes their own decorative cards and such?
I am planning to make a trip to the Hobby Lobby to see what I could possibly come up with on my own. Have any of you ordered the actual "Project Life" kits? They seem great, but I'd still like to really personalize mine.
I am also excited, because I feel it would motivate me to use all my camera equipment and do more photography of my everyday life. It would really be something beautiful to look back on.
Today was my day off, and that usually gets me in trouble. I have now come across plane tickets for $250RT to Florida. I am so back and forth when it comes to making a future plan and spending money. Hopefully, the prices stay the same through out the week. Decisions decisions. I thought about driving down, but its a 16 hour drive or more and I'd have to break it into two days, plus gas price. Hmm...I do miss the warm weather and the ocean.
If you have Steam and you don't have TF2, I suggest you give it a try!
Team Fortress is a free to play FPS combined with humor, timing, and team cooperation. It has been out for ages and is still as good as new. It gets freshly updated every so often and is still widely played. TF2's fan base is one of the best and most active I have seen for being a relatively older game. I am so glad it's still alive and well. You can find more here. There are also other cute GEEKY Valentines cards too!
Let me just say, I love Steam, I think it is one of the best things that could happen for PC. I would pick steam over any console. (not saying I don't like Xbox or PS.) I just enjoy mouse key board more. So I thought this was a creative, fun idea...
"Anyone who wants to take part in the Steam Music beta can join the community group; members of the group will receive invites in waves. After pointing Steam to the directory that houses your computer’s music collection, you’ll be able to navigate a display of songs, albums and artists directly from the in-game Steam overlay. For me, a big perk for this type of integration would be managing volume levels without having to alt+tab out to iTunes."
I am really hoping this beta goes over well. I am extremely pumped for it.
"Valve promises that the future of in-game music integration will be based on beta feedback, so participation counts. Head over to the community group, where pleas for integration with streaming music services like Last.fm and Pandora have already begun."
Do any of you guys play any Steam based games? Computer gaming is my favorite and I believe Steam really saved computer gaming. I love that they are trying to make the whole PC gaming a neat and fun experience. Lets see how it works out.
Yay, for this find! I was just randomly searching the racks at Ross and found this gem. I did finally get to wear this new outfit out and about. Now, if i can get my boyfriend to let me get a third kitty for real. XD
I know my hair is always a mess. I've never really learned what to do with it. I am in the stage of growing it out and can't seem to tame it at all. I miss my long hair extremely. It's a shame too, because my hair seems to take FOREVER to grow out. I do NOT wash my hair everyday and I try to keep heat off of it too! Do you girls have any tips?
I am loving these finds right now! Make sure to check out Lounge Fly for some amazing items! Want these items? Click the images for more info!
These were two of my childhood heroes. I'd always used my brothers K'Nexs to make my Chun-Li replica wrist bracelets. I grew up playing Street Fighter and to this day it will be one of my favorite games.
As far as Sailor Moon, I've been obsessed with both versions since I was a little girl. It all started when I watched Toonami on Cartoon Network. It would play right after Dragon Ball-Z. My favorite will always be Sailor Chibi Moon. (Rini) All the way to the end.
Just got a little research done, and wow! So much planning will be needed. I've been to smaller Comic Cons around Pittsburgh and Philly, but I would really like to get out to San Diego's Comic Con.
So here is the deal, I really just want to enjoy the atmosphere and see a lot of the Cosplay. I am a short little girl so stuffing into a place to see a panel isn't the top on my list. From what I gathered and figured there are very LONG lines, which is fine, so... I still have a few questions:
How many days should I stay if I am just there to enjoy the surroundings?
How much do you usually spend once you're inside?
Are there other "side" attractions lesser known then the panels?
How far ahead did you plan and book a place to stay?
Thank you guys for all the amazing input! It is greatly appreciated! I'd also like to mention "comicsandcookies.com" for suggesting "thenerdygirlie.com." There is a very well done survival guide and info for the SDCC.
One last mention goes out to "jezebel.com" for all their info and help.
Had the day off, so I actually spent time getting dressed into something snazzy. (instead of my boring work clothes.) The tights I actually picked up at Forever21 and WOW, I love them! I will buy every other design I find now.
My post have been lacking because my boyfriend has just introduced me to Supernatural. OH MY, I guess its the humor but I actually think it's a fun show to watch. I started right into season 4, so I am going to have to go back. I really didn't expect to like it. Here's to being sick and finding new TV shows! Does anyone else watch it?
I've been slacking a bit, ONLY because I could not get my self out of bed yesterday and most of today. I was the sickest I have been in years! I must have slept over 13hours. As I laid there I did manage to read some gaming news and here is one I thought was interesting from "GamesTM."
I have many reasons which have drawn me to the game, but why do people love the Sims?
Also, how cool would it be to work in the Maxis/Sims office?? I wish they would just hire me to make the "pre-made" homes.
OH! and don't forget about Halo... Ehhh! I am super excited for that one.
Is this to much? No way! I will rock cat stuff all day. I love cats & I love making my boyfriend think I am some super crazy cat lady. These are two very cute outfits for casual & dressy days. Make room for some furry friend inspiration! I my self wear a lot of black and white, so the pop of color is much appreciated.
As you know I have been doing some cleaning.. and happily stumbling upon little gems I've always had but forgot about. Well here are some more!
I am not sure if any of you have ever heard or played this Play Station game called Bust-a-Groove. (Not to be confused with Bust-a-Move) It was one of my all time favorites! I actually remember renting it from Blockbuster and then renting it again, and again, until I finally got it for Christmas. They came out with a second one as well and it was just as good. Ah, so many memories and fun times at Blockbuster. It's a shame I wont be able to take my (future) kids there someday and have that experience. :(
Hopefully, the game will still work. I just need to invest in another Play Station 2, for this and my love, Kingdom Hearts.
So when I move from place to place it's pretty much throw everything into the biggest carrier I can find and everything else in my book bags. I need some organization skills. HOWEVER! Sometimes it is fun to be disorganized, because then you forget what you have and it's like one huge surprise.
My mom on the other hand is a organized hoarder. She's kept all my baby/kids clothes packed away in the attic. When we moved out of our home she gave me my kiddy clothes. I am so happy she kept these! (and these are just a few.)
My favorite power ranger of course...
My cute kitty shirts. Oh, and I have thousands of these kinds of shirts.
and then my favorite Disney princess.
The reasoning behind Pocahontas being my favorite princess had to do with this gem...
